• Personal Items

The Federal Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) prohibits the transport of personal items by an auto carrier. Personal items are not covered by insurance and if you do decide to transport some personal items in your car, you do so at your own risk. Auto carriers are licensed to haul cars and moving companies are licensed to ship household items. There is a difference.

• Guarantees

Companies should not guarantee specific pick up and delivery times. Anything from traffic to weather to mechanical difficulties can radically affect a drivers time schedule. Unless the person giving you the guaranteed time frame is sitting behind the wheel of the truck that is transporting your car you can consider this a desperate attempt to gain your business. A reputable company that uses the term “guarantee” will have a disclaimer should any of the previously mentioned situations arise.
